Abiding in God's love

How God's love shows up in our lives

Meditation

Hi there,

Over the past three weeks, we've worked through 1 John 4, Genesis 22, Deuteronomy 5, and Hosea 11 and seen the immutable nature of God's love, its expressions, and its effects.

Today we'll end the week with three well-known individual verses to copy and reflect on that highlight God's love for humanity, expressed through the giving of Jesus Christ and the invitation for believers to abide in His love.

Today's texts are John 3: 16, Romans 5: 8 and 1 John 4:16

God’s Love for Israel

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1 John 4:16

Encouragement

Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.

Psalm 136:26
