God's dwelling place is now among the people
Whereas in Ezekiel 48, we saw that God dwelt in the temple, in the New Jerusalem, there is no temple.

Meditation
Hi there,
Jerusalem is the only city that exists both on earth and in heaven.
Whereas in Ezekiel 48, we saw that God dwelt in the temple, in the New Jerusalem, there is no temple.
The temple existed to be a place where God could be present with His people, but still, there was a divide between them. Every element of temple worship, the sacrifice, the priesthood, the curtain, the boundary between holy and most holy, was a structure built around the divide caused by man's sin.
In Revelation 21, John hears a loud voice from the throne: "God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them." The mediation of priests, the curtain, and the holy of holies are no longer required to bridge the gap between God and man.
What Ezekiel saw as a name over a city, Jehovah-Shammah, the Lord is there, John sees as the new creation. The divide finally closed by the Lamb.
Jesus is Jehovah-Shammah
Today's text is Revelation 23:1-4
A New Heaven and a New Earth
21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Encouragement
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
