Is your Bible calling?

Transforming your Bible from a book into a phone

Scripture is a “contact” sport

Hi there,

This week I met Dan Hickling, an online pastor, for the first time.

We'd been introduced by a mutual acquaintance through such a spectacularly unlikely set of circumstances dating back 30 years that you could only conclude God's hand was in it.

When that happens the hairs go up on the back of your neck and you pay special attention. I'm glad I did!

...and I know you will be too.

Dan has has been copying out the Bible out by hand for 15 years and has developed his own study method to reinforce his daily Bible copying practice.

He's coined the acronym P.R.A.I.S.E to outline the method and you can learn more about it at the link I placed at the bottom of the page.

Your Bible is not a book

Explaining his passion for rewriting scripture Dan stopped me in my tracks, saying;

“The Bible isn't a book; it's a phone.”

When you rewrite scripture and meditate on the word you experience deeper bonding and intimacy with the text and with God.

You aren't just consuming you are communicating. Fully. Deeply. Richly.

Dan and I are hoping to work together on an upcoming BCC season...so look out for that.

In the meantime check out Dan's explanation of his method here. I believe it can help you take your enjoyment of BCC and your relationship with Scripture and it’s Author to another level of connection and intimacy.

...and know that when your BCC email hits your inbox in the early hours of tomorrow morning, your Bible is calling.

Don't let it go to voicemail!

Andy
