Jehovah Nissi. The Lord Is My Banner
In Christ, the call is not just to rally to what God has done, but to come to Him directly, the one who is Himself our banner.

Meditation
Hi there,
In Exodus 17, the banner is a symbol. Moses lifts the staff of God, and as it is raised, the people prevail. The victory is tied to that visible sign pointing to God as the one who fights for His people. The banner marks where to look, where to gather, and where the victory truly comes from.
In Isaiah 11:10, the prophet speaks of the coming Messiah as the one who will stand as a banner for the peoples. No longer a symbol but a person.
The nations don’t just gather under a sign; they are drawn to a person. What was once lifted up as a symbol in the wilderness is now described as someone who will be lifted up in the sight of all.
In Christ, the call is not just to rally to what God has done, but to come to Him directly, the one who is Himself our banner.
Today's text is Isaiah 11: 10-12
10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.
11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush,from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.
12 He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
