Jesus the King who will be known

"Who is this?"...a question that still echoes today

Hi there,

Reflecting on last week, we went on a journey from Jesus' triumphal but confusing entry into Jerusalem through the chaotic scenes in the temple, the healing of the sick, and then the first confrontation with the chief priests in the temple.

Coming as a King but unrecognizable to most. Drawing cheers from some, confusion from others, and suspicion from the powerful.

“Who is this?” (Matthew 21:10) is a question still echoing today.

Jesus cannot be reduced, categorized, or controlled. But he can be known. By those who honestly seek him.

Ironically, the chief priests asked him the most direct and revealing question but chose to answer it dishonestly when it was mirrored back onto them.

They knew but chose "we don't know" to preserve their position and their power rather than surrender it.

As our Easter series continues, everyone we meet will be presented with the same choice; everyone will be required to make it. Just as we are. Daily.

Until tomorrow,

Andy
