Hi there,

Today's verses repeat and retell the central facts of the Israelite's recent deliverance. Pharaoh's chariots and his army are completely lost, and the Lord alone has the credit.

Nothing the Israelites have done.

Only the Lord.

"Your right hand," "your majesty," "your" anger, "your" victory.

Today's text is Exodus 15:4-8

Exodus 15

⁴ Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
 he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
 are drowned in the Red Sea.
⁵ The deep waters have covered them;
 they sank to the depths like a stone.
⁶ Your right hand, Lord,
 was majestic in power.
Your right hand, Lord,
 shattered the enemy.

⁷ “In the greatness of your majesty
 you threw down those who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger;
 it consumed them like stubble.
⁸ By the blast of your nostrils
 the waters piled up.
The surging waters stood up like a wall;
 the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.

Encouragement

¹³ The Lord thundered from heaven;
 the voice of the Most High resounded.
¹⁴ He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy,
 with great bolts of lightning he routed them.

¹⁵ The valleys of the sea were exposed
 and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke, Lord,
 at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
