Today: A bonus passage
This is a rest week for BCC, but here's a bonus passage for last week's study

Meditation
Hi there,
This week is a rest week after the most recent series studying some of the lesser-known stories about women in the Bible, Abigail, Michal, and the woman known as "The Shunammite”.
I had some upheaval this weekend and wasn't able to send out my usual reflection questions on time, so I'll send them out on Wednesday for the whole series, and on Friday, I'll send a teaser for the Easter series.
Then, next week, we'll kick off a three-week season that will take us through the Easter story. A deep dive into Easter week.
There is an additional episode featuring the Shunammite recorded in 2 Kings 8, and I have printed it below for you to copy as an addendum to the series.
Again, it shows the woman calmly and fully following Elisha's instructions. The passage last week was about the restoration of her son; today, it is her land and her income. Showing that her story is more than one miracle, but rather a consistent history of obedience and composed faith.
Today's verses are 2 Kings 8:1-6
The Shunammite’s Land Restored
8 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Go away with your family and stay for a while wherever you can, because the Lord has decreed a famine in the land that will last seven years.” 2 The woman proceeded to do as the man of God said. She and her family went away and stayed in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 At the end of the seven years she came back from the land of the Philistines and went to appeal to the king for her house and land. 4 The king was talking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, and had said, “Tell me about all the great things Elisha has done.”
5 Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to appeal to the king for her house and land.
Gehazi said, “This is the woman, my lord the king, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” 6 The king asked the woman about it, and she told him.
Then he assigned an official to her case and said to him, “Give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land from the day she left the country until now.”
Encouragement
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all;
Psalm 34:17-19
